Call for applications for FY2008 Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher

RIKEN is now accepting applications for the position of Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher (FPR) for FY2008. This is a position for foreign young scientists who have demonstrated creative and innovative ideas and who can be expected to become internationally active in the future.

Qualifications
(1) In principle, candidates should be non-Japanese under the age of 35 as of April 1, 2008.
(2) Candidates must have a PhD in the natural sciences (or expect to be awarded a PhD by the date of hire).
(3) Candidates must be able to start working at RIKEN within fiscal 2008 (April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009).

Remuneration
Base salary is 487,000 yen (including social insurance premiums and tax) per month. A commuting allowance (actual cost up to maximum of 45,000 yen per month) and a housing allowance (partial payment of rent) are also available.
