Into unexplored nature, science and technology in attosecond (10 –18 s…

본문

"A large number of physical processes occur at the timescale shorter than 1 femtosecond. Coherent electronic motion in atoms and molecules, ultrafast electron-electron scattering or other relaxation processes in nanostructured materials are some of examples. Neither snap shots of all these processes have ever been taken nor dynamical study of them has ever explored. Recent development in the generation and characterization of attosecond pulses due to the advance in high power femtosecond laser technology is opening ways to explore natural phenomena in the timescale shorter than femtosecond. Since the first laboratory indication of attosecond pulses in 1999, there have been fascinating developments in the emerging field of atto-science. The field has recently attracted enormous attention in different disciplines, providing a fertile ground for sound breakthroughs related to metrology, as well as to upcoming applications. In this talk, review will be made on the generation of attosecond pulses and recent development in this front of science will be introduced."
